SeedPilot: AI Content Operations Agent for Drupal 10 & 11

Share
SeedPilot, an AI agent for Drupal, prepares English and Spanish drafts with SEO, alt text and links for editorial approval.

SeedPilot is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) content operations agent for Drupal 10 and 11. From a chat window it drafts and edits content, links translations, writes SEO metadata, generates alt text, proposes internal links and audits published pages. Every change starts as a draft, and nothing is published or deleted without explicit human approval.

“Content Operations” needs to work outside a single vendor’s platform

“Content Operations” has quickly become the Drupal community’s term for AI orchestration of content management: agents that don’t just write copy, but do the operational work inside the CMS (Content Management System).

That’s a welcome shift. But a large share of the Drupal ecosystem runs on self-managed infrastructure or independent hosting, not on any single vendor’s proprietary SaaS (Software as a Service). Those organizations face the same content backlog, and they need the same capabilities without re-platforming.

That’s the gap SeedPilot is built for: a lightweight module on your existing Drupal 10 or 11 site, connected to an agent that understands your content model.

Who it’s for: the marketer with a backlog

When we shared SeedPilot with peers in the international Drupal community, the feedback converged on two profiles:

  • The overextended marketer who would rather spend time optimizing email campaigns and paid media, while content requests keep piling up.
  • Organizations running a fleet of sites that need consistent language and terminology across all of them, and a reliable way to keep unwanted language out.

Underneath both sits a simple truth:

The web is full of outdated content — not because teams don’t care, but because they lack the time and attention to maintain it.

How SeedPilot works

  1. Ask in plain language. “Publish this article and prepare the Spanish version.” “Which pages are missing a meta description?”
  2. The agent prepares the change. It discovers your content types, fields, taxonomies and components. No generic templates.
  3. You approve. Content saves as a draft. Publishing and deletion require explicit confirmation.

Installation is a lightweight module that doesn’t touch your existing structure or content.

What it does

Content operations

  • Create and edit content from chat, always as drafts
  • Answer status questions: what exists, what’s live, what’s still in draft
  • Fix spelling and grammar; reuse existing categories and tags to avoid duplicates
  • Attach images to the right content, in classic image fields or Media Library
  • Link real translations to the same Drupal entity, with independent per-language publishing
  • Bulk import from Excel or CSV (Comma-Separated Values): if one row fails, the rest continue, and the agent reports what failed and why
  • Handle multi-level nested Paragraphs and validated list/checkbox fields

SEO and site quality

  • Meta title, meta description and focus keyword for Yoast SEO and Metatag, in each content’s language
  • Internal linking based on real site content, including bidirectional relationships (with confirmation)
  • Orphan page detection with real linking candidates
  • Metadata validation for missing, duplicate or over-length fields
  • Vision-powered alt text (Claude Vision) for image fields and Media Library
  • Audits of published content and on-demand SEO health reports

Governance built in, not bolted on

Agentic tools inside a CMS raise a fair question: who’s accountable for what the agent does? SeedPilot answers it structurally:

  • Explicit approval before anything is published or deleted
  • Full audit trail: what was done, when, and who approved it
  • Tenant isolation: each site and account fully separated, even on a shared AI engine
  • Capability matrix importable from an existing Drupal role, so the agent can’t exceed the user’s own permissions
  • Brand voice settings, global or per content type, which is the lever fleet operators need for consistent terminology
  • Plan ceilings and per-site token visibility

This reflects how we see the next phase of Drupal: less about building sites, more about governing AI on top of them.

Early adopters: higher education

Our first deployments are with universities, where the problem is at its sharpest: hundreds of program pages, bilingual content, many internal stakeholders requesting updates and small web teams. Typical workflows include publishing a bilingual article with metadata, alt text and suggested links in a single conversation; validating metadata across all program pages and exporting the gaps to CSV; and receiving a weekly SEO report with prioritized sections.

Standard layer or niche add-on?

We don't think the answer is settled yet, and market demand will decide. Our bet is that an agent layer will become as normal in a serious Drupal stack as a caching layer or a search index: not a feature you showcase, but infrastructure you expect. Higher education is where we'll find out first.
