Banca de las Oportunidades is a National Government program, administered by Bancoldex, to promote financial inclusion in Colombia. Its objective is to create the necessary conditions to facilitate access to financial services such as savings, credit, transfers, payments, money transfers, remittances and insurance to those who have not had access to them.

Project description:

The main activities for the development of the project to modernize the Banca de las Oportunidades website were established, including the project management methodology.

  • Portal modernization.
  • Improved usability (ease of use).
  • Better access to information by stakeholders.
  • Design principles.

Project timeline:

The development of the project is divided into the following stages:

1. Analysis and architecture: An analysis and architecture document was prepared and validated with BdO and constituted the main input for the development of the site.

2. Design: A document was obtained with the graphic design elements that were validated by BdO and served as the base for the development of the site.

3. Backend development: We built the functionality and structure code needed for the site.

4. Frontend development: We implemented the final code of graphic styles for the new site.

5. Quality tests and adjustments: In this stage, unit, integration and functional tests were performed by our team to determine that the requirements given in the analysis and architecture document complied with the requested functionalities.

6. BdO acceptance tests: BdO performed the tests focused on validating the correct operation of each of the elements according to the requested requirements

7. Stabilization of the website: In this stage the errors detected in the development were validated and corrected.

8. Production go-live: Transfer of the site from the development servers to production and start-up of the new site.

9. Training: The training established in the scope was provided so that BdO was autonomous in updating the contents of the new site.
