Drupal IXP Program: professional growth through practice

At Seed EM, we believe that the best way to learn is to put knowledge into practice. That's why we're happy to share the experience of Marien Julieta Barinas, who completed the Drupal IXP Program. Here, she tells us about her experience, what she learned, and how valuable this program was for her professional development.
Learning experience at Seed EM through the Drupal IXP Program
During my participation in IXP projects, I had the opportunity to take on an active role in different areas, which allowed me to strengthen both my technical skills and my ability to work in a team.
From the beginning of the program, I prepared myself by reading and studying different resources on Drupal to build a solid foundation. This preparation was key because it gave me greater clarity and confidence to understand how the tool works and anticipate the challenges that might arise during the development of the projects.
In initiatives such as Portal Seed, Poli Radio, and Portal Aliatto, I participated in the creation and refinement of user stories that served as a guide for implementing key functionalities.
One of my main responsibilities was working with Drupal's multilingual modules to manage content translations and design interfaces for internal pages on Portal Seed. I also developed and configured front-end blocks and components, and contributed to content creation and organization on the Drup & Drop project.
The Scrum methodology was essential in this process, complemented by daily, personalized sessions with my two mentors. They guided me in learning Drupal through practical cases that I had to develop, and then they reviewed my exercises, gave me feedback, and answered my questions. This support made my learning much more dynamic and effective.
Another important aspect was quality control. I performed front-end validations to ensure functionality, design accuracy, and correct display on different devices and browsers. This work included identifying, documenting, and correcting errors, which helped me develop a more detailed and focused view of the user experience.
In conclusion, this experience was highly enriching because it allowed me to grow both technically and professionally. I learned to manage deliveries in a structured way, to work in a team in an organized manner, and to prioritize the user experience in each implementation. It also motivates me to continue improving and to value the importance of collaboration and quality in each future project.
